Wildlife Conservation & The Experience of a Lifetime
Our volunteer conservation programme in South Africa gives you the opportunity to protect local wildlife - like rhinos, lions and elephants - whilst participating in exciting activities that will allow you to experience the best South Africa has to offer.
The volunteering you'll do is desperately needed. You will feel like you have contributed to the conservation of these amazing animals, and by the end you will have forged memorable bonds with them. We are sure this will be a meaningful experience you will never forget.
South Africa occupies the southernmost tip of Africa, bordering Namibia on the Atlantic coast and Mozambique along the coastline of the Indian Ocean.
It is one of the most diverse African nations by virtue of the variety of races, nationalities and languages that exist in the country. Well known for its spectacular wildlife, and encompassing a range of national parks, the country is inhabited by a remarkable variety of animals. Sadly, South Africa has been a hot-bed of hunting over the last few centuries and much conservation work, largely through volunteering, is now required to maintain it's valuable diversity.
Our projects are based in the beautiful Marataba section of the Marakele National Park, which is renowned for its natural beauty. After decades of struggle, South Africa has a wonderful spirit of determination to create equality for all its people and to preserve the beauty of its lands, but to make this a reality it needs all the help it can get. This is where you come in.
You can make a big difference and any help you can give is valuable; whether it be helping in the poor communities or giving a wild animal a second chance. The people of South Africa will make you feel so welcome and valued, which always makes for a rewarding experience for our South Africa volunteers.
Volunteering in South Africa is very popular with our volunteers. The scenery and the animals are a big part of that, we're sure! Check out what just a few of our recent volunteers had to say after their trips:
